Due to the current pandemic, daily travel is minimal and voluntary to ensure the health and safety of staff. There is no overnight travel currently. In the future, this position may resume daily and/or overnight travel. All AHA offices are closed and staff are currently working from home. Offices will be reopening in October 2021; this position will resume to being based in the local office.

Responsibilities

The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Social Media Correspondent, Video . The location for this position is remote .

In this role, you will be responsible for content creation and community management for the AHA’s TikTok account along with content for Reels and YouTube Shorts. You’ll collaborate with different teams in the organization to create content that brings our mission to life. If you’re obsessed with the #ForYou page and make Instagram stories and Reels content daily, we want to hear from you!

Essential Duties:

  • Moderate TikTok and other assigned social platforms. This includes creating and maintaining an editorial calendar. Moderate the comments section answering questions and responding to replies. Remove spam and inappropriate comments. Ensure all posts to social platforms align with standards and overall goals of the American Heart Association. Understand the brand tone and style to create compelling social content that aligns with brand strategies, promotions, and key messages.

  • Create engaging content across social media properties, including elements such as videos, graphics, etc. Align national activities with those of Affiliate social media teams.

  • Provide input into strategy from a social perspective, staying on top of industry trends and communicating trends to the appropriate team. Apply insights to social strategy and ensure strategies are supported through social media. Stay abreast of emerging social platforms and incorporate expansion into plans.

  • Implement process for quick response to media developments, follower comments, etc. that require immediate reaction from the brand. Work with the media team and strategic team to ensure timely, appropriate response.

  • Provide on-going reporting and analysis and apply learnings to strategy. Create weekly and monthly social analytics reports, including compiling and analyzing data in both aggregate and post level format. Present to internal stakeholders as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or equivalent work experience

  • Two (2) years of experience in managing social media platforms, including creating content, moderating communities, and creating editorial calendars

  • Excellent written communications skills, particularly consumer-oriented writing

  • Project management - demonstrated track record of meeting deadlines

  • Excellent design and creative communications development skills

  • One (1) year of Tik Tok/Social Video creation using in-app tools and funtionality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of experience in Audio/Video production and development

  • One (1) year of experience with content creation applications such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite

  • One (1) year of familiarity with Sprinklr
