American Heart Association Development Director in Little Rock, Arkansas

We are currently hiring a Development Director in Little Rock, AR. The Director will generate revenue for our Go Red For Women (GRFW) fundraising campaign. This campaign includes our signature Go Red For Women Luncheon event. This is an office-based position that offers a hybrid schedule. Our office is located in Little Rock.

In this role, you will be responsible for identifying and securing development prospects for the Central Arkansas Go Red For Women campaign. This campaign brings together corporate partners, medical leaders, community leaders, and volunteers of the community to bring awareness and spread the mission of the American Heart Association. You will also plan, implement, and evaluate the event. This role will create a vision and strategy translating it into specific action plans for each account. You will actively work with team members to grow existing accounts, secure new ones, and expand the volunteer base of the organization.

We have a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission. We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers.

Responsibilities

As the Development Director, you will be responsible for a goal of $225,000 which can be achieved by:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with corporate and community partners.

  • Driving new business development through selling sponsorships and generating participant income for the assigned campaign.

  • Developing new company and volunteer recruitment plans as well as driving income goals.

  • Recruiting and stewarding C-suite volunteer leaders based on best practices.

  • Helping to drive peer-to-peer fundraising.

  • Establishing relationships with affluent individual donors and foundations and achieving dollar results.

  • Monitoring participant fundraising trends and implementing proven strategies to improve income.

  • Building a network of significant volunteer partnerships to advance our mission.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience.

  • Ability to travel weekly within the local market. This includes travel to Saline County and other areas in central Arkansas.

  • Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.

  • Must have at least basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Here are some of the preferred experience skills we are seeking:

  • University/College degree or equivalent experience, preferred.

  • Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-Suite level.

  • Knowledge of corporate and community networks.

  • Understanding of and navigating corporate cultures to achieve goals.

  • Knowledge and ability to successfully identify, cultivate, recruit, and manage relationships with top-level volunteers /customers.
