Due to the current pandemic, all American Heart Association offices are closed and daily travel is minimal and voluntary to ensure the health and safety of staff; all staff are currently working from home. In the future, this position may resume to extensive daily travel and being based in the local office.

We have an excellent opportunity available to join our Youth Market Team in Hawaii. The Youth Market team focuses on K-12 school fundraising. Help us advance our mission for a world of longer, healthier lives by engaging students, parents, school administrators and other partners with the American Heart Association.

The Kids Heart Challenge TM is designed for youth to develop heart-healthy habits through physical activity and learn the value of community service by raising funds for the American Heart Association to help kids with special hearts.

In this full-time temporary position, the seasonal Associate Director will work with the Youth Market team and participating schools throughout the assigned region with direct fundraising, account management, school assemblies and presentations, customer service, administrative and logistics coordination, data entry/management/reporting, and donation processing.

To provide excellent customer service, this position involves extensive presentations and meetings both remotely and, when/where safe and possible, travel by car to school sites.

This is a full-time seasonal position up through June 2021 and eligible for benefits including comprehensive health benefits, paid time off and holidays in addition to competitive compensation.

Qualifications

The successful candidate for this role has a passion for health and the resourcefulness and customer-service orientation to engage youth, teachers and volunteers to enthusiastic action. Other qualifications include:

  • Strong customer service and teamwork orientation

  • Effective organizational, detail managementand interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Adaptability with ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of participating schools

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and present to a wide range of audiences from kindergarteners to teens and adults.

  • Must have reliable transportation. Current driver’s license and insurance required.
