American Heart Association National Director of Brand Marketing, Fundraising in Dallas, Texas

The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a National Director of Brand Marketing, Development based out of our National Center office! This position can be remote/home based but must reside near a major airport.

Reporting to the National VP, Brand Marketing, the Director of Development Marketing is an insights-driven, results-oriented digital marketing expert responsible for increasing revenue and donor participation and engagement by developing national and local marketing strategies to increase participation and positioning around core events, corporate fundraising and new revenue opportunities.

The Director of Development Marketing partners with fundraising teams to develop and implement marketing strategies for peer-to-peer fundraising , promotion and amplification of core events, participation in grassroots experiences, and creation of year round activities and tactics to support new pathways for corporate and donor engagement .

This role will oversee integrated marketing planning, budget management, media placement and reporting, and creative execution including development of content in collaboration with social, digital and communications leads to deliver consistent messaging in all channels of the customer journey. Builds and maintains relationships with all stakeholders to meet business needs and ensure effective delivery of strategies in market. Supervises others.

Responsibilities

  • Lead marketing efforts to increase revenue and donor/participation engagement by developing national and local marketing strategies to increase participation and positioning around core events.

  • Develops, communicates, and advises planning and implementation of multi-channel marketing activities, strategies and messaging for donor engagement, core events and corporate sales to drive awareness, participation, fundraising and revenue.

  • Leads development and communication of short-term and long-term strategic plans. Assesses internal and external trends in the market to define marketing objectives and success, including specific goals, relevant metrics, and methods for reporting plan achievement.

  • Collaborates, develops and maintains key partnerships and fosters strong cross-functional collaboration with internal and external partners, agencies, and field/ sales teams. Leads integration and implementation of omnichannel marketing strategies, including SEO/ SEM, CRM, sales/promotional tools, experiential, peer-to-peer, messaging, content, consumer journey and brand compliance regionally and nationally.

  • Oversees agencies/ vendors to create and implement media and content marketing placements across owned, paid, and earned channels to increase lead generation and peer to peer and corporate fundraising effectively.

  • Accesses data and evaluations from a variety of internal and external sources to develop insights, identify areas of opportunity and optimize effectiveness of marketing communications. Collaborates with analysts and cross functional team to deliver performance reports and insights and recommends actions or revisions to strategies.

  • Builds powerful partnerships with Development business leaders and Integrated Marketing and Communications colleagues to deliver product improvements and defined marketing gains.

  • Serves as target audience, content, and messaging expert for marketing techniques to effective increase revenue generation. Identifies standard methodologies and digital trends for gaining new targets and leads.

  • Responsible for managing budget for assigned brands. Creates innovative and optimal media strategies, implements test and learns, works with partners to build, track and optimize advertising campaigns.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

  • 8-12 years of proven experience

  • Experience in digital marketing and communications with proven success in peer to peer marketing, event marketing, fundraising, and participant and corporate engagement, preferably in the not-for-profit or association sector.

  • Experience leading integrated marketing across web, email, social and media/advertising preferred

  • Experience in working with multiple vendors/partners (internally and externally) with critical timelines and multiple project requirements.

  • Experience in strategic planning. Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational, and personal sales skills

  • Ability to analyze data and interpret into narrative form

  • Ability to conduct presentations to a various level of professional audiences

  • Ability to work optimally with staff and volunteers at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to think logically and tackle problems

  • Ability to travel up to 30% locally and overnight stay
