The American Heart Association is seeking an experienced Marketing Communications Manager specializing in translation/transcreation management for multicultural and diverse audiences. The location for this position is flexible .
This Cultural Inititiaves Manager is responsible for the oversight and coordination of content, campaign asset and health material translation to ensure cultural relevance and resonance across diverse markets. Supports the development and execution of strategies to engage multicultural and diverse audiences, leveraging deep consumer insights to drive impactful MarComm outcomes. Ensures brand alignment, linguistic accuracy and cultural sensitivity in all efforts. The marketing communications manager will also manage relationships with localization vendors, partners and Business Matter Experts to serve the unique translation and transcreation needs of the Association.

Responsibilities
Facilitates transcreation and translation requests through intake, editing, internal (requestor) and external review and with the localization vendor to ensure accuracy, consistency and audience relevance. Monitors and reports status updates and recommends course corrections to ensure timely delivery within budget.
Liaises with Business Matter Experts and other internal partners across a variety of functions to influence collaboration and update guidelines. Manages glossary lists to ensure terms are used accurately and consistently by localization vendors and by expert volunteers. Manages relationships with volunteers, coordinates reviews for select transcreations and translations and assesses criteria to select preferred terms. Collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to maintain consistent messaging while adapting it to various cultural nuances and preferences.
Manages localization vendors and contractors to enhance processes and output. Analyzes quotes for accuracy and rate agreements. Prepares and submits contracts, invoices and performs other duties as assigned. Assesses translation volume and quality, recommends process modifications and develops reports for internal audiences.
Supports the implementation of the Association’s enterprise-wide multicultural initiatives, inclusive of MarCom tactics and media strategies that will garner coverage of the Association’s priorities in targeted multicultural news media outlets and will amplify the Association’s life-saving mission among consumers, volunteers, internal stakeholders and external partners in multicultural communities. Identifies and helps secure media partnerships to support the multicultural strategy.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Business administration, healthcare administration, marketing/brand management
Two (2) years of the following experience:
Experience in translation/localization services and/or product development for multicultural audiences.
Experience with Multicultural Marketing Communcations, Public Relations and/or Media Relations, Track record of successful multicultural media placements a plus.
Ability to conceptualize new approaches to program/product design and delivery
Must be fluently bilingual, AAPI and/or Spanish language preferred
Experience with engaging volunteers and consultants/vendors in program/product development process
