The American Heart Association (AHA) has an excellent opportunity for a Manager, Financial Systems in our National Center office located in Dallas, Texas .
The Manager, Financial Systems is responsible for leading assigned Application Systems team to create efficiencies, manage application system development, advance technical capabilities and optimize user understanding and training. Additional responsibilities include managing the E1 Financial Platform and supporting financial systems like the reporting platforms, supporting AHA business staff using these applications, documenting processes, configuring related programs or ecosystems, and acting as technical resource manager. This role is responsible for providing vendor management, developing KPI’s for effective management, and identifying resources for project management related to assigned application. Applications may be internal to AHA on managed servers and platforms or supported through SaaS vendor managed platforms.
Essential Job Duties:
Oversees development, configuration, and usage of assigned application system for AHA business units to meet ongoing technology needs. Oversees development and overall management of data movement of the financial platform to other systems/reporting engines.
Leads project scope development with project managers. Work with Project Management during projects as technical resource manager, bringing in team members as needed Report on status of operational projects and support work for all integrations and web development needs.
Attracts, develops, coaches and supervises team staff. Manages activities with complete integrity and in accordance with AHA policies, systems, practices and programs. Monitor and maintain overall system integrity and reliability.
Manage configuration and development of the Financial Platform application and delivery of data and analysis reports. Manages application programming, accessibility, and security. Provides detailed monthly reporting on usage, customization, changes to system support, and educates AHA staff.
Manages associated 3rd party vendor relationships, including ongoing support, contractual and cost reviews. Work with various vendors, consulting, reviewing, and approving all integrations between Finance Applications, external applications, and internal applications.
Participates in Business Technology planning process providing resource allocation information, high-level project estimates and technical guidance to all departments and levels within the organization. Participates in annual budgeting process. Work with various business persons to understand and help facilitate various digital strategies.
Collaborate with the Operations Manager to document processes and configurations of program ecosystems on our SaaS platforms.
Serve as escalation path for design and implementation questions from internal teams.
As the financial system migration project matures, this person will be a key member in the team that will help identify a new financial system platform and project migration path to implement the new financial platform.

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study.
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in application systems management, configuration or programming.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience:
WithFinancial Systems (E1, Workday, Oracle Netsuite, Oracle Fusion.
With assigned specialization, application integration and APIs.
Overseeing technology provided through internal platform or Service as a Software (SaaS) vendors.
Experience in strategic planning, including the ability to focus on overall strategic goals of the AHA and dependencies of the assigned application system.
Experience supervising a team of analysts, developers, or administrators.
Ability to communicate, both verbally and on paper, tailoring the form and method of communications to the needs and perceptions of the recipients.
Ability to break complex problems down into simple elements and to solve them logically.
Ability to embrace and drive change, as well as remove barriers to change or accelerate the pace of change.
Ability to attract, develop and coach staff.
Strong time management skills with demonstrated experience in managing complex web environments.
Must be able to travel overnight approx. 5% of the time.

Compensation & Benefits
Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials may apply.
Employees scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in the medical, dental, and vision plans the first of the month following 30 days of service. AHA subsidizes the medical and dental cost to ensure benefits are affordable. Eligible dependents under AHA’s group benefit plans include legal spouse, domestic partner, children under the age of 26 or who are disabled. AHA offers additional benefits like an EAP, telehealth benefit for general medical and behavioral health, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, and disability.
Retirement Plans: AHA retirement plans offer employees a way to start saving after their first paycheck. The retirement plans provides employer contributions after two years of service. If you have previous 501(c)(3) non-profit experience, within the last 5 years, at a national health agency, an institution of higher learning or a medical institution, that experience may count towards the two-year waiting period. Employees are 100% vested in employee and employer contributions.
Paid Days Off: Regular full-time and part-time employees earn Paid Time Off (PTO) based on years of service. PTO begins accruing on date of hire. Full time employees receive one paid Community Service time off day per year and are encouraged to participate in projects, programs and organizations which contribute to the health and vitality of their communities. AHA also offers 12 paid holidays per year.
Leaves of Absence: AHA offers both Short Term and Long Term Disability benefits which replace earnings if you are unable to work due to a non-work-related illness or injury. Employees are eligible for Short Term Disability after 90 days of service and are eligible for Long Term Disability after being disabled for 90 days or more. Eligible employees can take up to 12 weeks off of work for a qualified leave of absence under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), intermittent FMLA leaves and leave as an accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act as Amended (ADAAA.
