The American Heart Association is seeking a National Grassroots Manager, Digital.
Manages online engagement of advocates in order to advance the American Heart Association’s public policy priorities at the federal, state and community level. Provides management of the grassroots advocacy network’s online presence including the website, action platform and social media accounts. Responsible for tracking and analyzing program metrics and recommending modifications based upon data. Collaborates closely with grassroots colleagues to provide support and make strategic recommendations based on established best practices.

Responsibilities
Regularly evaluates grassroots advocacy program metrics, including but not limited to: tracking performance of communications and analyzing network trends through web-based action and reporting systems. Produces analytics for grassroots email program, database, and website. Makes recommendations for program adjustments based on the data.
Responsible for creating and distributing detailed visual dashboards and spreadsheets of program data encompassing results on policy issues and actions taken by advocates.
Responsible for working with internal partners to ensure grassroots results are integrated into Association-wide quarterly reporting efforts.
Responsible for tracking ROI and engagement over time of advocates acquired from Lead Gen sources and other paid acquisition services.
Ensures effective online engagement of advocates in public policy campaigns. Develops key messaging, crafts and posts content for website, creates and distributes digital assets for social media, sets-up and launches advocate communications, and reports campaign results. Maintains and monitors the volunteer database.
Provides support for grassroots field team on the online advocacy platform hosted by Quorum. Identify and share best practices and establish documentation for unmet training needs.
Contributes to the grassroots advocacy e-newsletter.
Collaborates with partners both internal and external to promote grassroots program & campaigns. Provides turnkey content for partners to promote, execute and track results. External partners include partner organizations with a shared advocacy issue agenda.
Develops and executes virtual engagement strategy surrounding local, state and federal lobby day and awareness events intended to drive forward the American Heart Association/ASA public policy priorities. Coordinates and distributes volunteer communications with field team partners.
Writes and launches action alerts to mobilize volunteers to send communications to lawmakers, regulators and industry leaders.
Qualifications
3 years of experience with community organizing and mobilization, volunteer management, public policy, public health, government relations, political and/or issue campaigns
3 years of experience with developing and implementing training
Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated aptitude to utilize trend analysis, research and other sources to turn data and information into actionable information
Ability to develop grassroots recruitment and activation campaigns
Excellent presentation and training skills
Ability to recruit, direct, coach, monitor, and supervise volunteers
Working knowledge of grassroots advocacy principles
Exceptional oral and written communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple, complex projects in varying stages of development under time constraints
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, self-starter.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with supporting integrated campaign strategies- media advocacy, grassroots mobilization, coalition-building and lobbying- to advance public policy goals
Basic experience with website content management
Database management experience
Volunteer management experience
Basic digital media content creation skills (images, video, etc.)
Use and management of web-based grassroots action sites for creating campaigns, sending alerts and managing volunteer and legislator information
Basic understanding and skills to support social media outreach
Knowledge of the legislative process at the federal, state and local level
Compensation & Benefits
Expected pay range will be $70,000 - $80,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.
