American Heart Association HR Coordinator, TEMP in Atlanta, Georgia

The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Part-time Temporary Human Resources Coordinator position on our Southeast Regional HR Team virtually located in the Metro Atlanta Area. The HR Coordinator is responsible for providing exceptional customer service when responding to and supporting HR personnel needs for current and former employees.

Weekly schedule for this position is 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Format and Update Regional HR SharePoint Sites - Collaborate with the HR team to gather and verify content. Implement best practices for SharePoint design. Regularly review and update pages to reflect current HR policies and information.

  • Email Intake and Forwarding - Monitor the designated HR inbox and categorize emails by urgency and topic. Develop a system for tracking email assignments and follow-ups. Ensure timely forwarding of emails to the appropriate HR Business Partner (HRBP.

  • Update Regional Org Chart - Collect updated information from the regional HR team. Use organizational chart tools to reflect changes in structure. Communicate updates to all relevant stakeholders.

  • File/Document Retention and Clean-Up - Audit current HR files and documents to identify outdated or redundant items. Create a retention review schedule in compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Organize and archive important documents for easy retrieval.

  • Performance Management File Audit - Review staff performance review documents for accuracy. Report findings to the regional HR team for follow-up.

  • Conduct Research on Assigned HR Initiatives - Identify key areas for research based on HR strategic goals. Gather data from reliable sources and compile comprehensive reports. Present findings and recommendations to the HR team.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 3 years of relevant work experience in human resources or equivalent type experience

  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communications skills

  • Knowledge of HR Information Systems (HRIS) and relevant applications is required

  • Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Sharepoint), typing proficiency is required

  • Experience in database reporting and query tools (Workday)

Here are some of the preferred skills we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study

  • General knowledge and understanding of human resources policies, procedures, and benefits

  • Experience with intranet (Sharepoint)

  • Minimum of two (2) years of related HR experience
